Additional Information
Prepare yourselves for a seafaring adventure through Boston’s past! On this tour we will be passing Old North Church (Paul Revere), Old Ironsides , and the remains of the famous shipbuilding yards of Donald McKay (the Greyhounds of the Sea). We will also pass the “The Golden Stairs”, having already traveled out to the outer harbor to view the oldest Lighthouse in the country, Boston Light (1716) and the Golden Age of Piracy (1690-1725). Highlighting the tour will be the clean up story of Boston Harbor, one of the great turn around stories of Boston. Through a rich and humorous narrative, I’ll take you through the events that helped shape a great city. This is American history come to life.
“David Coffin is a musician, performer, and music-educator of remarkable ability and insight. As a maritime specialist and descendant of some of America’s greatest seafaring families–the whaling Coffins of Nantucket– no one could be better suited to presenting the traditional songs and yarns of Yankee seafaring in the Age of Sail.”
